Hi, I’m Sean O’Meara

First elected in 2014 as Oakville’s Regional and Town Councillor for Ward 1, I have called Oakville home for more than 35 years.

I hold an Honours degree in Political Science from the University of Guelph and completed graduate studies at Queen’s University in Northern Ireland and Kingston, with a focus on international relations and conflict resolution.

I have worked at Queen’s Park for Oakville MPP Kevin Flynn and in government relations at Tim Hortons’ corporate head office, leading key strategic files and earning a Top 40 Under 40 Business Award.

A significant part of my work has been representing Halton bi-nationally on Great Lakes protection, advocating alongside Canadian and U.S. municipal leaders for the environmental, economic, and drinking-water security of the Great Lakes–St. Lawrence system.

I continue to serve in community leadership and volunteer roles, and I live in Bronte with my wife Danika and our two children, whose future strongly shapes my commitment to Oakville.
