First elected in 2014 as Oakville’s Regional and Town Councillor for Ward 1, Sean has called Oakville home for more than 40 years.
Sean holds an Honours degree in Political Science from the University of Guelph and completed graduate studies at Queen’s University in Northern Ireland and Kingston, focusing on international relations and conflict resolution.
Prior to his success in municipal politics, Sean worked at Queen’s Park for Oakville MPP Kevin Flynn and in government relations at Tim Hortons’ corporate head office, where he led key strategic files and earned recognition as a Top 40 Under 40 business leader.
A significant part of Sean’s public service has involved representing Halton on bi-national Great Lakes protection initiatives, advocating alongside Canadian and U.S. municipal leaders for the environmental, economic, and drinking-water security of the Great Lakes–St. Lawrence system.
Sean has also played an active leadership role in strengthening Oakville’s local economy and community institutions. As Chair of Visit Oakville, he helped lead the transformation of the former Oakville Tourism Partnership from a modest $37,000 annual organization into a thriving $1-million destination marketing organization, helping attract visitors, support local businesses, and drive tourism investment into the community. He also serves on the Halton Industry Education Council, helping strengthen connections between education and workforce development, and currently sits on the Oakville Marine Search and Rescue Board, supporting marine safety and emergency preparedness along Oakville’s waterfront.
Sean continues to serve in community leadership and volunteer roles and lives in Bronte with his wife, Danika, and their two children, whose future strongly shapes his commitment to Oakville and its continued success.
